Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Salty Socials (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you contact us through this site or by email, we collect what you provide directly: your name, email address, and the content of your message. We also collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited), and, because this site uses the Meta Pixel, certain information about how you use the site is collected automatically and shared with Meta (see “Advertising and analytics (Meta Pixel)” below).
How we use it
We use the information you give us to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver our services. We don’t sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we only share it where necessary to provide our services or where required by law.
Cookies
This site uses the minimal technical cookies WordPress itself requires for the site to function. It also uses a third-party advertising cookie set by the Meta Pixel (see below). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking them won’t stop the site working.
Advertising and analytics (Meta Pixel)
We use the Meta Pixel, a tracking tool provided by Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), on this website. When you visit a page, the Pixel loads a script from Meta and may set a cookie in your browser. It sends Meta information about your visit, such as the page you viewed, your IP address, browser and device details and a cookie identifier. Meta may match this with your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one.
We use this to understand how people find and use our site, to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising, and to show our ads to people who may be interested in them. We do not send Meta the content of your enquiries or messages. Meta is responsible for its own use of this data under its own privacy policy, and it may process the data outside South Africa.
You can opt out by blocking cookies or the Pixel script in your browser or with a content blocker, by adjusting your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram account settings, or by contacting us at kayla@saltysocials.co.za and we will help you object to this processing.
Your rights
As a South African business, we handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct or delete it, and object to how it’s used. To do any of this, contact us using the details below.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, and take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
